Kansas City Chiefs Tickets

From 1960-1969, the Kansas City Chiefs is one of the most successful franchises in the AFL. The Chiefs won the league’s championship three times with an all-time record of 92-50-5. They are the second AFL team to defeat an NFL team in an NFL-AFL World Championship Game, defeating the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV. Kansas City Chiefs joined the NFL when the merger between NFL and AFL was completed in 1970, the same year when Stram led the team to AFL western division title.

1963-1970 was the glory years for the Kansas City Chiefs, under Hank Stram with quarterback Len Dawson; the Chiefs played their first Super Bowl. Though they lost the game with the Packers, they took revenge after 3 years upsetting the Vikings and proved that AFL was no fluke. They dominated on both offense and defense in Super Bowl IV and sealed the merge to the NFL. It was Stam’s creative plays the revolutionized the game with great offense and defense. Five pro football Hall-of-Famers played for the Chiefs on this era quarterback Len Dawson, linebacker Bobby Bell and Willie Lanier, defensive tackle Buck Buchanan and wide receiver Otis Taylor.

The 2007 season for the Chiefs began with the team looking forward to improve their 9-7 record in 2006 but the season ended with a nine game losing streak and finishing a record of 4-12. It was the Kansas City Chiefs’ first season with twelve losses since 1978. The upcoming season will be the team’s 49th and the third for head coach Herman Edwards. The chiefs will attempt to improve on their 4-12 record last season having the fifth overall pick in the NFL Draft 2008.
